The Design Review process ensures that we specify every detail on how a tool is built so that no matter who builds the tool, we are assured of getting exactly what we specified. WM Plastics feels there is a natural conflict of interest in companies that try to be in the business of Injection Molding and Mold Making. In order to serve our customers' best interests, we feel it is best to subcontract tool building to those companies that specialize in it. We have developed a close network of tooling resources to match the tool with the shop most capable of building it. This allows us to play an impartial role in specifying the appropriate tooling for the job, resulting in no shortcuts on tooling design and construction. In some cases, our customers may require prototype parts or tooling. We have strategic alliances with the people who specialize in these services. While our tool room is equipped to build smaller, less complicated prototype tools, we still rely on subcontractors who specialize in various types of prototyping. And since we stay involved during the prototyping stage, we are able to learn a great deal about the part, which ensures the most robust tool and part design.
